2014 Deus Handmade Festival

There are certain moments in life where you feel like you’re in the right place at the right time. On December 6, 2014, we joined the hip, the cool, the trendsetting and the most stylish moto heads in Venice, Ca at Deus Ex Machina for the 2014 Deus Handmade Festival to show off our wares and hang out with the amazing folks behind Los Angeles’ top custom motorcycle scene.

Deus Ex Machina in Venice, CAIf you haven’t been to Deus, it’s definitely time you made the trek. With the on-hand expertise of legendary builder Michael “Woolie” Woolaway, Deus produces some of the most high quality custom bikes I’ve seen to date. The shop also offers quality motorcycle and surf gear, and some of the best coffee in West LA from Handsome Coffee Roasters. Nestled down near the beach, and a quick ride to Hollywood, they’re in the perfect location to see and be seen.

Known as the “Emporium of Post Modern Activities”, we were honored to take part in their annual Handmade Festival. The festival is a showcase of engineers, crafters, artisans, artists who gather to showcase their methods, purvey their wares, and network and build relationships which indeed last a lifetime.

I Always Wear Protection - shirt from Hinterland Empire

I had the joy of partnering with the ladies from Hinterland Clothing, based in Eureka, California to bring a handful of unique prints to the show. We worked together on designing and preparing a selection of hand crafted screen prints, along with patches and some Hinterland t-shirts. Trinia made the trek down with me and we had an absolute blast. These ladies worked day and night to prepare for the festival, for which I am eternally in their debt. They are two of the hardest working people I’ve met, creating handmade apparel crafted from 100% American made textiles and products. Check out Hinterland’s website and online store.

We hope to head back down to Deus Ex Machina for more fantastic events in 2015, but until then, enjoy the festival from our perspective via photos.
